You Can Share The Gospel
Session 3: Hell's Best Kept Secret
This is a classic message from Kirk Cameron and Ray Comfort. It
is called Hell's Best Kept Secret because this is a secret Satan
does not want you to know.
What is this video saying? That you have to share the gospel exactly
right? Maybe some of the excuses from the first video were valid
after all. What if I say the wrong thing? What if I don't present
the gospel correctly? What if I don't know what to say?
Those are still excuses.
Who makes someone a Christian?
God.
The Bible only tells us to share the gospel. That is all we are
supposed to do. God does the saving.
The video reminds us that Christ died to pay the penalty for our
sin. That we are sinners is an important part of the gospel message,
and should not be left out. In 1 Corinthians 15:3-8 Paul describes
what is of first importantance, and what he preaches:
"For what I received I passed on to you
as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins [disobeying
God] according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was
raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, and that he
appeared to Peter, and then to the Twelve. After that he appeared
to more than five hundred of the brothers at the same time, most
of whom are still living, though some have fallen asleep. Then he
appeared to James, then to all the apostles, and last of all he
appeared to me also..."
About a year after I became a Christian I got into a discussion
with an atheist. He challenged me to define the word "sin".
He said he was doing this because he had yet to meet a Christian
who knew what the word "sin" meant. I was embarrassed.
I did not know what sin was. I could not define it for him.
"sin is lawlessness" -
1 John 3:4
Don't assume the person you are talking with knows what
sin is.
